Atlanta in Style: A Smooth Journey and a Standout Stay

There’s something special about a journey that begins in comfort and ends with a genuine sense of discovery—and my recent trip to Atlanta delivered exactly that.

Flying business class with Turkish Airlines set the tone perfectly. The experience felt elevated from the moment I stepped into the lounge in Istanbul—truly world-class, offering a calm, refined space before a long-haul flight. Onboard, the service was exceptional: attentive without being intrusive, thoughtful in every detail. The dining experience stood out in particular, starting with fresh herbed lemonade and a selection of mezze, followed by a beautifully prepared beef fillet with rice. It was the kind of meal—and service—that makes a long flight feel like part of the adventure rather than just transit.

We landed in Atlanta just before 9pm, and to my surprise, everything moved effortlessly. Immigration was quick, and within minutes I was in an Uber heading into the city.

For my stay, I had booked The Forth Hotel Atlanta—and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The rooms were spacious, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. One detail that genuinely made me laugh: the fully stocked in-room bar. Not miniatures—full-sized bottles. It definitely made me wonder who exactly is polishing off a full bottle of vodka in their hotel room!

As someone who prioritizes fitness while traveling, I was completely blown away by the hotel’s gym. It’s easily the best hotel gym I’ve ever experienced. Spread across two floors, it features a dedicated cardio area upstairs and a comprehensive weights section below. Add to that a steam room, sauna, and cold plunge pool, and it feels more like a high-end wellness club than a hotel facility. The changing rooms were spotless and well-equipped, with complimentary fruit and water—a small touch that goes a long way.

Mornings were relaxed and enjoyable. Breakfast was easygoing, with an order-as-you-like approach, and the communal table made for a great spot to sip coffee and people-watch. The surrounding neighborhood was buzzing with energy—runners, dog walkers, and people out enjoying the day. It gave me the sense that Atlanta is a city that really values an active lifestyle.

The culinary highlight of the trip came in Buckhead Village at Yeppa & Co. I don’t say this lightly—the Italian food there ranks among the best I’ve ever had. Every dish felt authentic, vibrant, and expertly executed.

What stayed with me most, though, was the people. Atlanta has a cool, confident energy. The locals are friendly, stylish, and welcoming. It’s also clearly a city that lives and breathes sport, with its strong university culture and passionate community.

All in all, Atlanta made a big impression on me. This may have been a business trip, but next time, I’ll be back purely for the experience—and hopefully to catch a game.

Until then, Atlanta, I’ll be looking forward to round two.
